The U.S.-Mexico Border and Immigration Task Force formed in November 2006 to present a new ﾒborder visionﾓ that integrates comprehensibly border security, human rights and civil rights, accountability, community security and regional integration. The Task Force brings together the opinions, expertise and insight of diverse sectors from U.S.-Mexico border communities to present policy recommendations and testimonies on the current immigration reform and border policy debate. Members represent local elected officials, law enforcement, community organizations, academics, attorneys, and faith, business and community leaders of border cities and counties.

Border Action Network Border Action Network formed in 1999 and works with immigrant and border communities in southern Arizona to ensure that our rights are respected, our human dignity upheld and that our communities are healthy places to live. We are a membership-based organization that combines grassroots community organizing, leadership development, litigation and policy advocacy. The current political climate attests to the urgency of our long-term goal: to build the voice and power of those who are impacted the most by border and immigration policies and to build a national movement that calls for the fulfillment of human rights in this country. Currently, the Border Network for Human Rights (BNHR) focuses its organizing work in immigrant communities of El Paso Colonias and in southern New Mexico (Las Cruces, Anthony, Chaparral, Vado, Berino, etc.). BNHR is also supporting initial organizing efforts with immigrant communities in the Rio Grande Valley, Houston, Dallas, and New Jersey. The Forum is dedicated to embracing and upholding Americaﾕs tradition as a nation of immigrants. The Forum advocates and builds public support for public policies that welcome immigrants and refugees and are fair to and supportive of newcomers to our country. We are unique in that we do not have a specific constituencyﾐwe speak for immigration in the national interest.
